Synopsis: No other story in American history has been as celebrated or beloved as the story of
Ben-Hur. Set against the backdrop of the ancient Roman Empire, Judah Ben-Hur tells the tale of a valiant prince of Jerusalem
who survives the betrayal, savagery, and slavery that befall him at the hands of his childhood friend, the treachous Messala.
Losing everything he hold dear, he fights his way back for revenge to a sweeping climax in the legendary chariot race for
which this classic is best known. Now the classic tale of Ben-Hur
has been dusted off and transformed into Broadway musical that crosses the boundaries of age, religion, and race. Spectacular
sets, masterful dancing, delightful comedy, haunting melodies and lyrics, and a hearty stopping chariot race will thrill Broadway
audiences starting March of 2010. Originally produced in Singapore and playing from December 22, 2001 to February 9,
2002 at the NUS Cultural Center, the show is now ready for a NYC mounting.
